Tom Marchese leads star-studded field at WPT Foxwoods

Monday, 1 November 2010

With just twelve players remaining in the World Poker Tour World Poker Finals event at Foxwoods, Tom “kingsofcards” Marchese is way out in front with the chip lead and looking to make the televised six-handed final table tomorrow alongside a star-studded field of just two tables.

In the hunt for the first prize of over half a million dollars also are tournament behemoths Jason Mercier and Sorel Mizzi; the former is hoping to add a WPT title to his EPT and WSOP championships for a Triple Crown while the latter is fresh off a win in the PokerStars Sunday Warm-Up and gunning for Bluff magazine’s Player of the Year award after a great start to 2010.

Also in the running with twelve players left are Jeff Forrest and Hoyt Corkins, who with WSOPE and WPT cashes behind him this past year has had a good 2010 also. The final six players are guaranteed a six-figure prize and the televised final table will award over $500,000 to the eventual winner.
