Tom Marchese leads WPT Foxwoods final table

Tom Marchese leads WPT Foxwoods final table

Tuesday, 2 November 2010

Hoyt Corkins, Jason Mercier and Sorel Mizzi all missed out on the six-handed final table of the World Poker Finals in Foxwoods for the World Poker Tour championship. Instead, online player Tom “kingsofcards” Marchese leads the way as the final plays out tonight.

Marchese has only been playing live tournaments for a year or so – he first played in the Borgata Winter Open at Atlantic City, when he came third for $190,000. Since then he has made five more major final tables including a seventh place at the EPT London; a WSOP $10,000 PLHE final table and the NAPT Venetian title worth $830,000.

Should Marchese take down this event he will have over $2.3m in live tournament earnings for 2010; this is second only to Michael Mizrachi who won the $50,000 Players’ Championship and made the November Nine.

The final table of the World Poker Finals at Foxwoods plays out today, the chip stacks and seating assignments are as follows:

Seat 1: Nikolai Yakovenko - 624,000
Seat 2: Jeff Forrest - 1,949,000
Seat 3: Thomas Marchese - 3,022,000
Seat 4: Dave Inselberg - 344,000
Seat 5: Keven Stammen - 341,000
Seat 6: Mohsin Charania - 1,024,000
