Tom Hall Offers Glimpse of Crazy Macau Cash Games

Tuesday, 4 March 2014

We've heard plenty of rumours about the crazy cash games in Macau involving the likes of Tom Dwan, Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey, Sam Trickett and some deep pocketed Asian businessmen but little in the way of confirmation about what really goes on.

Tom Hall has shone a small light on what the recent high stakes action has been like though. In a post on 2+2, Hall revealed that the Big Game is just as massive as railbirds believe it to be.

The US pro described a scene where there were 'so many chips on the table that there was no space to play' and that vouchers were being used as they'd run out of large denomination chips. All told there was around US$20m on one table. (see pic below).

With blinds ranging from US$4K/US$8K up to a truly eye-watering US$12.5K/25K big pots are inevitable and Hall recalled some whoppers, the biggest being a $5.1m split pot between a local and a visiting, unnamed pro.

Tom will be returning to Macau next. He'll hopefully be revealing some more insights from the insane games.
