Tom Dwan pulls back $180,000 from jungleman12

Thursday, 9 December 2010

Their mid-week sessions see durrrr take something back from his six-figure deficit.

In the past week or so Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Daniel “jungleman12” Cates have been putting a bit more time (i.e., more than zero time) into the durrrr challenge and have crossed the 11,000 hand mark. The most recent sessions saw durrrr book a $180,000 win, reducing the $800,000 plus lead of jungleman12.

In total, the two have played 11,569 of the 50,000 hands and jungleman12 is a $582,788 winner. A lead of just 14.5 buy-ins is nowhere near as comprehensive as the $850,000 lead Cates had at his peak, though as the last few thousand hands have proved – anything can happen.

Since hand number six thousand the two have been basically breaking even with Cates taking the edge results-wise. However, Tom Dwan was down $600,000 or so 5,000 hands ago; Tom Dwan is down $600,000 or so now. He hasn’t been in the black for this challenge since it began, though.
