A field of 361 players gathered in the beautiful Spanish city of Valencia for the latest leg of the Unibet Open series earlier this week with Denmark's Thomas Thang taking the title.

Thang, who is the President of the Danish Poker Federation, went into the final table of the €1,600 buy-in event, sixth in the chip counts but dominated proceedings with a string of eliminations. The cash game specialist sealed the €138,080 first prize after winning a race with pocket 8s against Andreas Hoffman's A-10.

“I’m feeling great. There’s always a bit of luck involved, but in the end the best players win.” said the delighted winner, adding “It’s bit weird. It was my goal from the beginning, and now it’s achieved. But it feels good. I didn’t get involved in too much trouble. I just tried to keep the pots small.”

The Fox Poker Club in London is the venue for the Unibet Open Grand Final from 4th to 7th December. Qualifiers are up and running at Unibet Poker.
