The Western Club resumes guaranteed tournaments

Wednesday, 23 January 2013

After some wrangling with local authorities, The Western Club venue in west London is set to resume offering guaranteed prize pool tournaments from tonight.

The bricks-and-mortar casino is located in the district of Acton and will begin a full schedule of guaranteed tournaments starting with a £3,000 event this evening.

The new roster of money-added tournaments comes as positive news for all involved, not least Adam Bowen, Tournament Director for The Western Club.

To mark the start of the new schedule as well as Bowen’s birthday, the Western Club is hosting a special Beat The Bowen Terminator Tournament on the evening of January 23 featuring £3,000 guaranteed.

Playing as 'The Terminator', Bowen must call any pre-flop raise but only call or fold post-flop. Additionally, his demise can’t come before the first break as his stack will be reloaded and he’ll move seats if he’s felted.

Once the break has passed, Bowen will be able to play as normal and will have a £50 bounty on his head.

Players who attend tonight will enjoy a 15,000 starting stack for £33 plus an additional 8,000 bonus chips for an extra five pounds if they wish. Levels will be 23 minutes long and the starting blinds will be 25/50.
