122 players gathered at Walsall’s Grosvenor Casino for the third and final leg of the GUKPT Summer Series. 21-year-old Brummie Vinny Price won the £500 buy in event, outlasting a final table that included GUKPT heavy hitters Tony Phillips and Mickey Wernick. Price and heads up opponent Toby Lewis did a deal to split the cash but there was still the trophy and a seat in the Champion of Champions Event up for grabs.

After a lengthy heads up session, the chips went in with Price holding 6-4 and Lewis K-9 on a 6-4-9-4-8 board. Price’s Full House gave him his first major win in what was his maiden GUKPT event.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1st – Vinny Price £16,000
2nd – Toby Lewis £16,000
3rd – Simon Wickenden £8,770
4th – Abed Eid £5,440
5th – Gordon Gainford £3,930

After this three stop summer interlude the GUKPT heads online for the Online Summer Festival starting on Blue Square Poker on 20th July. The live tour returns in Luton on 1st August with further stops in Cardiff, Thanet, Blackpool and London before the Champion of Champions Festival, which starts on 30th November.
