They can already take some of the credit for the massive growth in live poker events, but now the World Poker Tour can also boast about becoming a publishing phenomenon. With titles including Mike Sexton’s “Shuffle Up and Deal” and Erick Lindgren’s “Making The Final Table” already flying off the shelves, the latest edition is Antonio Esfandiari’s “In The Money”.
Antonio’s book, rather than looking at tournament poker, takes a look at the world of cash poker. Esfandiari explains that even the best tournament players have to hit the cash tables when there are small pickings to be had at the big games and also what the key differences are between the two variations. He also offers practical tips, looking back at previous hands that he has played in cash games and how he took his opponents on. In all, it’s a book that aims to give some steel to players in a volatile and sometimes uncomfortable surrounding – and that’s just a home game with buddies.
