The Gutshot’s Derek Kelly to Speak and Sign Books at Poker in the Park.

Wednesday, 8 July 2009

Derek Kelly, the founder of the infamous Gutshot Club in London and the man behind Ireland’s new Voodoo Card Club, is the newest addition to the speaker line-up at Poker in the Park – August 13 & 14, 2009 in Leicester Square, London.

Kelly is one of the biggest names on the UK poker scene and his influence is responsible for shaping and creating many of the things that British poker players take for granted. His 30 minute lecture, therefore, should be packed with little tidbits and insightful anecdotes about the world of poker.

His latest book, “Tales of a Degenerate Poker Player,” seems to promise the same thing. Kelly’s account of poker history is a must for anyone interested in the story of their favourite players and tournaments.

Kelly joins a number of high-profile names in the poker world already attending Poker in the Park. So far pros lecturing include: Neil Channing, Nick Persaud, Ian Frazer, Paul Jackson and Kara Scott.
