The Big Event down to 22 – Ramdin still leads

Wednesday, 9 March 2011

The tournament formerly known as NAPT Los Angeles is down to its final three tables with long time chip leader Victor Ramdin still in control.

The PokerStars pro started the day as chip leader and by the close of play, with just 22 players remaining, he was still at the top of the leader board with a stack of 1.6m chips. Daniel Negreanu's Big Event is over though. Kid Poker was knocked out in 37th place by Paul Chaunderson who flopped a nine high heart flush. Negreanu held the ace hearts giving him a redraw but couldn't find the missing heart on the turn or river.

Despite Negreanu's departure there are still a number of big names dotted amongst the field, most notably former WSOP Main Event winner Joe Hachem who ended day three in the middle of the pack. Other notables still in contention for the $500,000 first prize include David Paredes, David 'ODB' Baker and Chris DeMaci.

The 22 remaining players will be whittled down to final table of eight overnight. Join us tomorrow to see who is still in the hunt for a bumper pay day.
