It is nearly that time of year again when the best poker professionals and hopeful amateurs come together to play in the largest fielded land-based tournament in the world, and Pre-registration for the prestigious annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) tourney, is now open.
Scheduled for June 1 through July 17 at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino, the WSOP looks set to again be one of the largest brick-and-mortar poker events this year.
Payment for any of the 55 events can be made in cash, with cashier’s cheques or via wire transfers. Rio casino chips will also be accepted, including a special edition WSOP branded $10,000 chip.
As ever, the buy-in for the pinnacle of the tourney, the hotly-contested Main Event, will be fixed at the princely sum of $10,000. Other bracelet tournaments will range from $1,000 to $50,000.
Players are advised to note that changes have been made to the participant rules, including a less conservative player apparel policy. Further details and event registration instructions can be viewed at the official WSOP website.
