Swedish Bots Shutdown

Monday, 25 February 2013

A huge cheating ring involving a suspected 14 accounts has been shut down by Swedish poker site, Svenska Spel.

According to PokerFuse.com, the government licensed site started conducting an investigation four months ago into a number of accounts that players suspected as being operated by bots.

Following reviews of the as yet unnamed accounts, the site has locked them and passed the details on to the Swedish police.

In addition to this, the site has suspended $16,000, but believes that almost $280,000 has been stolen from players in the last 12 months.

Svenska Spel has already pledged to reimburse affected players; however, they now face a lengthy fraud investigation in conjunction with the Swedish Gaming Board and the police.
