Superstar Showdown postponed due to Ike Haxton’s connection

Monday, 12 March 2012

The Superstar Showdown made a long-awaited return last night with Viktor “Isildur1” Blom taking on the only man to ever beat him in the heads up event, Isaac “philivey2694” Haxton.

This time, the stakes were doubled to $100/$200 with each player bringing a $300,000 bankroll to the tables. In their last match, played at half the stakes, Haxton took just over $41,000 from Blom over the course of 2,500 hands.

This time, just 692 hands into the match, it was suspended after persistent difficulties with Haxton’s internet connection. He explained: “I'm really sorry about all this. I know it's ruining the flow of the match for spectators.

“To clarify the weather stuff: There was a really bad storm 2 days ago. My internet was completely down for 2 hours and has been a little unstable ever since. I think something between the ISP and my apartment must have been damaged.”

The two plan to resume play at PokerStars this week. With 1,808 hands left to play, Haxton is down $99,000.
