Supernova in a few Hours

Supernova in a few Hours

Reaching Supernova Elite on PokerStars is the ultimate goal for any grinder, but accumulating the required 1 million VPPs isn’t something that most people will achieve in a 12 month period.

High volume players such as Randy “nanonoko” Lew, George “Jorg95” Lind and Andrew “azntracker” Li all made the grade in 2012, with “azntracker” breaking the record for the fast time to reach the top VIP status.

Taking just two months to rake in enough points, it looked as though that record would stand for a while. However, in the last 24 hours that feat looks in serious danger as two players earned over 90,000 VPPs in just 39 hours.

Playing almost every high and mid stakes hyper turbo SNG they could, Alex “AWice” Wice and “MouldyOnions” engaged in a race to make 100,000 points in the fastest time possible.

Racking up VPPs at an alarming rate, it was Wice that finally reached the six-figure mark in a time of 39 hours 25 minutes.

The phenomenal pace means that if he continues to grind at the rate for the next few days he’ll easily break “azntracker”’s record for reaching Supernova Elite.

With a 100K VPP shopping spree and his face amongst PokerStars’ collectable deck of cards, Wice’s achievement will certainly be worth it.

However, with the 1 million VPP Supernova Elite race still open, it looks as though the two super grinders will continue their insane sessions until one crosses the mark first and claims a double points day (essentially free money) and a place in PokerStars’ commemorative deck of cards.
