Organisers of the Super Poker Event of 2012 are nothing if not ambitious. They have just announced details of a potentially record breaking event scheduled for Dublin next February.
The Irish capital's Citywest Conference Centre will be the venue for the €300+€40 event with organisers hoping to attract a field of 4,000 runners. Yes, you read that correctly, that's four thousand. And not 4,000 staggered over a number of days but 4,000 sitting down simultaneously. That would make a massive prize pool of €1.2m.Day 1 will start at 12:00 on Saturday 25th Feb 2012 with Day 2 following on Sunday 26th Feb. Day 3 (Final 8 Players) will be delayed until 13:00 on Saturday 31st March 2012. The Final 8 players will then be flown to a secure location (up to €400 flight and accommodation allowance provided) and the final table will be live streamed on the Internet.
