Whilst The Hitman might have been floored, the football team cracked by Croatia and Lewis Hamilton pipped to the chequered flag, it should come as no surprise that in one arena, the Englishman remains king: Beer Pong.

Whilst The Hitman might have been floored, the football team cracked by Croatia and Lewis Hamilton pipped to the chequered flag, it should come as no surprise that in one arena, the Englishman remains king: Beer Pong. Surrounded by sun, sea, and a lot of alcohol, Matt Osbourne won himself a seat into the EPT Monte Carlo Poker Tournament by winning the 2nd annual Beer Pong Championships in St. Kitts.
SunPoker had sponsored the event which was held alongside the Caribbean Poker Classic, and the 32 online qualifiers were entitled to drink it out for the Beer Pong title. For those not in the know, Beer Pong is a drinking game in which players throw a ping pong ball across a table with the intent of landing the ball in one of several cups of beer on the other end. When the ball lands in a drink, the defending team has to drink it. Once one team has had all their cups emptied, they then have to finish off the remains on the table. With soaring temperatures and a frenetic start, it isn’t surprising that the challenges of lesser mortals fell to the wayside, leaving Osbourne as the champ.
'I'll say this much, the guys from the UK can certainly drink their fair share of beer', comments Rob Gallo, SunPoker's founder and self appointed Beer Pong Tournament Director. 'And Matt certainly has proven his skills as a true Beer Pong Champion. I guess with the number of pubs in the UK, it's not a surprise they would have an advantage in any drinking game.'
