Danish poker group PokerTeam.dk has decided to split despite enormous success since its start only one and a half years ago.
The Danish poker group has won two World Poker Tour (WPT) events, one European Poker Tour (EPT) event and reached numerous final tables.
Rehne Pedersen was the first member of the team to win a major title when he took home the Fourth Annual Five Diamond World Poker Classic in December of 2005. This was followed by Christian Grundtvig when he won the €10,000 WPT Grand Prix De Paris in June of 2006 and Peter Willer Jepsen when he was awarded top spot in March of this year at the first-ever EPT Polish Open, in Warsaw.
'We are still the best of friends but there wasn't enough fuel in the engine and that's the only reason we have decided to stop,' said Pedersen.
The original group of players are set to go their separate ways but the name PokerTeam.dk is to live on as one of the players, Frederik Hostrup, is to carry the torch by forming a new team to travel the world playing in the biggest and most prestigious poker tournaments.
