Many online poker players have their fingers crossed hoping that this study will push Congress to repeal the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. This act prevents financial institutions from making transactions with online gambling sites.

Currently there is a fair amount of pro-poker rulings and announcements in the news. President Obama is said to be a fan of the game; Barney Frank plans to single-handedly repeal the UIGEA; judges in separate cases have ruled Texas Hold ‘em to be a game of skill.
