The first event of the Epic Poker League has been played out with nine players winning seats to the upcoming $20,000 6-max event as well as a little extra on top.
Steve O’Dwyer ended up triumphing over the 190-strong field to win not only a free seat but an additional $23,180.O’Dwyer beat Brandon Mayers to the title after getting it in with A-5 only to run into O’Dwyers A-8. This is how he runs, though - O’Dwyer recently took down the $5,000 Bellagio Cup event for nearly a quarter-million dollars, though that wasn’t enough to qualify him for the Epic Poker League.
