Stars / Tilt launch Vanuatu Appeal

Wednesday, 18 March 2015

Rational Group, the operator behind PokerStars and Full Tilt, has launched an appeal in partnership with emergency relief organisation CARE International to help victims of last week’s Cyclone Pam in Vanuatu.

The worst natural disaster in the history of the Pacific island nation, Hurricane Pam hit the archipelago of 267,000 people on March 13 with 260kph winds and killed at least eleven with many more reported missing.

As with previous charity appeals such as that launched in 2013 in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan, PokerStars and Full Tilt is matching dollar-for-dollar the amounts donated to CARE International by their players and staff.
“We're appealing for your help to raise funds for our emergency relief partner, CARE International, which we'll match dollar for dollar,” read a statement from Rational Group.

“The poker community rallied so strongly when we appealed in 2013 in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan. We hope that you can find it in your heart to donate again. Your contribution really will make a difference to people pushed close to the edge. You can donate via the CARE page or by using FPPs in our VIP store.”
