California’s Spotlight 29 Casino has announced the details of its All-Star Poker Challenge that will see everyday poker players competing alongside celebrities.
Scheduled for October 13 and 14 at the Coachella-based venue in southern California’s eastern desert, the inaugural event has already confirmed that American football legends Deacon Jones and Bo Jackson will participate alongside lightweight boxing champion Jorge Paez Jr and television comics Gabe Kaplan and Murray Langston. In addition, the event will also feature Coachella’s Mayor, Eduardo Garcia.
The buy-in for the event is $560 with $500 going to the prize pool, $50 to the house and the remainder to the dealer. The tournament will be No Limit with blind levels of 30 minutes. There is also the added incentive of a new car going to any player that wins with a Royal Flush on the Final Table.
Spotlight 29 Casino is a business venture of the Twenty-Nine Palms band of Mission Indians and the event will also feature a silent auction to benefit the Native American Land Conservancy.
