Soren Larsen wins EMOP Dublin

Monday, 1 August 2011

The Clontarf Castle Hotel in Dublin was the venue for the latest leg of the Euro Masters of Poker Tour with Denmark's Soren Larsen seeing off a strong challenge from the home contingent to take the first prize of €71,210.

The final table proved to be a battle between Scandinavia and Ireland with five representatives from the former and four from the latter. The same pattern followed as we reached a final pair of Dara O'Kearney and Larsen.

The Dane had a healthy chip lead at the start of two handed play and didn't let up throughout, eventually sealing the deal after calling O'Kearney's Kd8h shove with Jd9d. A jack and a nine appeared on the flop to confirm the win with the local player forced to settle for €42,720.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1. Søren T. Larsen (DEN)€ 71,210.00
2. Dara O´Kearney (IRE)€ 42,720.00
3. Jukka Nybäck (FIN)€ 27,880.00
4. Michael McCloskey (IRE)€ 16,970.00
