Some Classic Poker in Amsterdam

Some Classic Poker in Amsterdam

Friday, 9 November 2012

It wasn’t just the Dutch who turned out for this year’s Master Classics of Poker inside Amsterdam’s Holland Casino, as a host of European talent anted-up the €5,000 buy-in.

Starting out on Day 1 were some formidable faces such as Dominik Nitsche, Lex Veldhuis, Ana Marquez and Ilan Boujenah. However, when the first session had finished and the 212 players had been whittled down to 128, it was Johan Roosen who topped the chip counts.

Closely followed by Michael Tureniec and a plethora of pros, that order soon changed on Day 2 as the field was stripped down to just 29 players.

With 99 runners circling the rail it left the likes of Thierry van den Berg, Ben Roberts and Ramzi Jelassi to continue fighting for the title and the €286,200 top prize.

The action will continue today when the remaining players will move one step closer to claiming the MCOP title on Saturday.
