Soenke wins Estrellas Barcelona

Tuesday, 3 September 2013

Combining the Barcelona leg of the PokerStars Estrellas Poker Tour with the opening event of the new EPT season has proved to be something of a masterstroke with a massive, record-breaking field of 1,798 runner taking to the tables.

After four days of action it was Jahn Soenke who was crowned winner but the German didn't take home the most money. That accolade goes to England's Paul Vas Nunes who took home the biggest score after agreeing an ICM based deal when play was four handed.

Vas Nunes, who is a former winner of the PokerStars Sunday Million and the Dublin leg of the Unibet Open, eventually departed in second place when his A5 couldn't beat Soenke's AJ in the first, and only, hand during heads up play.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1 Jahn Soenke €181,136
2 Paul vas Nunes €204,589
3 Marcelo da Fonseca €158,475
4 Alin Sameeian €121,000
5 Marc Pujol €67,400
6 Paul Cusi €53,800
7 Lukasz Roczniak €41,100
8 Alfonso Amendola €29,000
