Snooker world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan in Harlow charity poker tournament

Tuesday, 10 March 2009

Top pro Roy Brindley will be joined by tournament regular Tony Cascarino, dart players Colin ‘Jaws’ Lloyd and Wayne ‘Hawaii 501’, and snooker world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan in a charity poker tournament later this month.

The event at Harlow Stadium on 18 March will raise cash for St. Clare’s Hospice, Essex which recently cared for terminally ill cancer patient Jade Goody.

The format will be a team event with each team captained by one of the celebrity players. Buy-in is £55 with all proceeds going to St. Clare’s. The evening will also see a full greyhound card (entry is free for the dogs) as well as a 150-runner darts tournament.

Organisers hope to raise a five figure sum for this very worthwhile cause.
