The Small Town Poker Tour (STPT) has announced that growing interest has seen it move the venue for an upcoming event in the southern state of Louisiana to a much larger venue.
The STPT is to host its next event at the Cajundome And Convention Center in Lafayette from November 2 to 3 in aid of charity and expects up to 1,000 players all vying for the top prize of $10,000 in vouchers.
'The tournament has been moved to the Cajundome And Convention Center to accommodate the crowd,” said Mark Fracalossi, Founder of the STPT. “Last year, we had almost 700 players. This year we are setting up for 1,000.'
The STPT's motto is ‘Changing the world of poker one hand at a time’ with the two-day $100 buy-in tournament benefiting the United Way of Acadiana. The event’s runner-up will receive a $5,000 Visa Gift card while the third-place finisher is to get a $3,000 Visa Gift card. There will also be a second-chance event with over $10,000 in Visa Gift card payouts.
In addition to the poker action, a local pub is to host an after-party on November 2 with all participants entitled to a free drink. Following this, the STPT stated that its next tournament in Louisiana is to be a one-day event on November 30 at the Lake Charles Civic Center to benefit the Lake Charles Symphony.
