A guaranteed prize pool of $10m has understandably proved a major pull at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open in Florida with another very healthy field on show for the second opening flight.
A total of 690 players paid the $5,000 buy-in with 225 players surviving the day. Leading the way at the close was Gjergj Sinishtaj on 376,000 followed by Raj Vohra 290,000 and Chris Dombrowski 266,800. As expected plenty of the game's biggest names were on show with the likes of Mike Matusow, Allen Kessler and Kyle Julius all surviving the day. Despite re-entering, Phil Ivey's day was a brief one. Other notables to hit the rail included Jason Mercier, David Sands and hip hip star Nelly. The third and final opening day flight starts at 5pm UK time with 676 entries needed to reach the $10m prize pool. Given the 1,324 runners from Days 1A and 1B that would seem to be a formality.
