Simon Ravnsbaek leads WPT Venice

Simon Ravnsbaek leads WPT Venice
Thursday, 9 February 2012

The final nine players from a field of 155 have been determined at WPT Venice Grand Prix with Simon Ravnbaek leading the way, just ahead of Alessandro Longobardi. A short day saw us play down from 27 to 9.

Along the way, we lost Kara Scott, James Akenhead and dominant chip leader Marcel Bjerkmann, who triple barrel bluffed into a full house before getting in a low ace against queens to demolish his own stack. Before this, however, he had cracked James Akenhead’s aces to send the Brit home.

Unusually, play has stopped with 9 remaining but WPT final tables are, as we know, six-handed. That means play today will reduce the field from 9 to 6 before the final table plays out tomorrow.
