Simon Deadman wins GUKPT Blackpool

It was a case of fourth time lucky for Simon Deadman this weekend. After a hat-trick of final table appearances in GUKPT Main Events this year (not to mention reaching the final nine in Walsall in 2011) Deadman sealed his first tour victory in Blackpool.

The Dusk Till Dawn regular outlasted a field of 173-runners at the seaside resort's Sandcastle Casino to pocket a first prize of just under £50,000. Deadman beat Jack Sandford heads up for the title, spiking a set of nines to beat Sandford's bottom pair on the final hand of the tournament.

The GUKPT heads to London for its final stop of the year with the Vic the venue for the 2012 Grand Final. The side event action gets under way on 24th November with the £2,500 Main Event starting on Friday 30th November. Qualifiers are up and running at BlueSq Poker.
