Before the cards were in the air for the beginning of Day 3 of the WPT World Championship, Bellagio tournament director Jack McClelland and Daniel Negreanu stood before the assembled players to make an announcement concerning one of the more controversial rules at the card room.
The debate about the ruling has most prominently been carried out on Daniel Negreanu’s blog, who is a firm believer in being able to show one card at the end of the hand without having to show the other. McClelland spoke about the blog, stating that he believed the concerns were valid and that he would like to put it to the players in a vote. The almost unanimous vote in favour of the change was met with McClelland replying, 'In the words of Steve Lipscomb, 'Ahh.... F#%k it,''. Rule changed, and it’s business as usual once again at the Bellagio.
McClelland even jokingly gave himself a 20-minute penalty for the f-bomb. Good work, Mr McClelland.
