Sheringham riding high at GUKPT Grand Final

Friday, 2 December 2011

Tony Cascarino has already proved that an ex footballer can win the GUKPT's biggest event. Could his former Millwall strike partner Teddy Sheringham be about to follow suit?

Sheringham doubled up just before the close to finish the day with a stack of just over 100,000 to put him fourth on the leader board. Fabian Quoss ended Day 1A as the the big stack with 179,900 followed by Mark Norman 143,800 and Andrey Dimitrov on 121,300.

A total of 31 opening flight starters survived the day including Alan McLean, Daniel Rudd, Warren Wooldridge and Neil Channing. High profile casualties included Vicky Coren and Barny Boatman.

Day 1B gets under way this lunchtime with the likes of Triple Crown winner Jake Cody and WSOP November Niner Sam Holden set to be amongst a big second flight field.
