Shaun Deeb wins third SCOOP, Mercier and Galfond score big

Shaun Deeb has won the Spring Championship of Online Poker Event 19-H, the $2,100 Triple Stud tournament. A small field of 68 players still doubled the guarantee as a slew of players competed in Stud, Stud 8 and Razz.

Deeb joined Brian Hastings and Eugene Katchalov at the final table, with the former busting in seventh place and Katchalov in third, after a multi-hour three-way battle that saw Katchalov fall to a cooler in Stud 8.

Deeb finished off runner-up “stevie44” in a short amount of time, claiming his $44,200 but also his record-tying third SCOOP watch.

Meanwhile, in the $1,050 Omaha rebuys event, we had a stacked final table:
Jason Mercier, Phil Galfond and Julian Gardner were the last three standing with fairly even stacks in SCOOP 18-H, so they all chopped up the prize pool and moved all-in the very next hand. Gardner had the best hand and the covering stack, winning the watch while they each took home $114,606 with Gardner taking an extra $4,000.
