Shaun Deeb wins his second SCOOP title

Friday, 11 May 2012

With two victories already, Viktor 'Isildur1' Blom has been the big story at this year's Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP). The Swede isn't the only high profile online name to have conquered at SCOOP though, with Shaun Deeb the latest notable to add a bracelet to his collection.

The Mexico-based pro took down the 10-H $2,100 Stud event, beating a final table that included PokerStars pro George Danzer, Aussie grinder James Obst, Pat Pezzin and George Lind to take the $41,600 first prize.

Martin Staszko has put in a number of good performances on the live circuit since his WSOP Main Event runner up finish last year and he's continuing the good run online. The Czech veteran has cashed in no fewer than nine events at this year's SCOOP with his biggest win so far coming in SCOOP 8-H – $1,050 NL Hold’em where he came third for $126,160. The event was won by UK player Pollopopeye, who bested a 1,328-runner field to claim a $229,212.80 first prize.

The action continues until 20 May with this weekend's highlights including NL Hold'em Shoot Outs, Six-max PLO and Two Day NL hold-em tournaments.
