All eyes will be on Mike Sexton heading into today's WPT Venice final table. The voice of the World Poker Tour returns in third place with a stack of 1,079,000 and is well placed for a deep run at the almost $181k first prize.

Sexton will face a strong home challenge with his five final table rivals all coming from Italy. Leading the way is Italian WPT commentator Marcello Montagner on 1,805,000 followed by Roberto Begni on 1,203,000. Long time chip leader >Erion IslamayRocco Palumbo are tied in fourth but some way back on 406,000 with Xia Lin rounding out the final table on 309,000.

12 players hit the rail yesterday including Kara Scott who busted in 13th after ending up on the wrong side of a couple of big flips. 2011 WSOP Main Event runner up Martin Staszko departed in tenth when his 11BB shove with AJ failed to hold against Mike Sexton's KQ. WPT Grand Prix de Paris winner Matt Salsberg was the final table bubble boy. The former TV producer looked in good shape for a timely double up after flopping a set but he faced a sweat against Marcello Montagner's flush and open ended straight draw. The turn was a blank but the king on the river completed the straight, sent Salsberg to the rail the Italian into the chip lead.
