Seven nations compete in Bahamas at World Cup of Poker VIII

Wednesday, 17 August 2011

The seventh World Cup of Poker has been announced for the 2012 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure in January. Last year, Italy took home the title but this time seven nations are competing to take the trophy – and the cash – at the Atlantis Resort and Casino in the Bahamas.

This weekend, Stage 1 qualifiers begin meaning that you can represent your country at the PCA 2012, so long as you can muster up a few bucks to compete. Some of the qualifiers are completely free, though, so there’s no excuse. After the qualifiers, players that make it through compete in knockout events in regional groups. The team of four that make it through will represent their country at the 2012 PCA.
Last year, Italy took home the title after a narrow victory. This year we’re hoping England can win at least one worldwide sporting event. This’ll do.
