Sebastian Homann wins WPT Marrakech for €244,508

Wednesday, 1 December 2010

In a Stu Ungar-esque level of dominance German player Sebastian Homann has taken down the WPT Marrakech after holding the overnight chip lead on all three days of the tournament. He has now been rewarded with all the chips in play – oh, and €244,508.

Homann took just seven hours to be the last man standing at the ChiliPoker-sponsored event after swiftly eliminating four of his eight opponents before reaching the heads-up stages against Guillaume Cescut holding a 2-1 chip lead. However, the Frenchman didn’t make it easy.

The French resistance of Cescut battled back against the German and at one point even managed to wrestle the chip lead from Homann at one point but then a huge cooler saw his stack reduced to almost nothing. A few hands later it was all over and Cescut had to settle for €135,831 and second place.

The full final table payouts at the World Poker Tour Marrakech sponsored by Chilipoker were as follows:

1.Sebastian Homann - €244,508
2.Guillaume Cescut - €135,831
3.Sebastian Compte - €90,554
4.Felix Oberauer - €72,439
5.Guillaume de la Gorce - €54,334
6.Dominik Nitsche - €36,220
7.Johan Williamsson - €28,977
8.Julien Labussiere - €25,356
9.Patrik Muleta - €19,920
