Scottish Poker Championships announced for Gala Edinburgh

Monday, 22 August 2011

Not long after Fintan Gavin won over £60,000 at the PokerStars UKIPT Edinburgh, the Gala Maybury Casino has announced that the Scottish Poker Championships will take place from October 6 to 8 in Edinburgh, wich means that the city is to play host to another £550 event.

The tournament will have 20,000 chips and a 45-minute clock with satellites running weekly at the club from now until October 5.

The Thursday before the weekend of the event will see a £20 re-buy satellite awarding seats to the event, which is set to kick off on Saturday, October 8, and play through to crown a winner the following day.

Prior to the main event, a £110 side competition with 7,500 chips and a half-hour clock will run on the Friday evening. Between the GUKPT Goliath, London Calling, EPT London and now this, UK players are spoiled for choice when it comes to big tournaments on home shores.
