Scott Wilson crowned APAT Scottish champion

It was a case of youth triumphing over experience at the latest leg of the Amateur Poker Association and Tour (APAT) over the weekend as 18-year-old Scott Wilson took the honours.

The Edinburgh youngster outlasted a field of 127-runners before seeing off Dundee's Kevin Wallace to pocket the first prize of £3,000 plus a seat in a GUKPT event courtesy of Betfair.


In addition to the Main Event there was also the small matter of the latest tournament in the APAT Professional League which was won by James Edwards. Like young Mr Wilson, he collected £3,000 in prize money plus GUKPT Main Event seat.


APAT now heads to the Baltic for the next leg of the series. The Northern European Amateur Poker Championships take place in Tallinn in Estonia from 31st July. Qualifiers are up and running at Betfair Poker.
