Scott Seiver wins PartyPoker Premier League

Wednesday, 11 April 2012

Scott Seiver will have half a million good reasons to remember his trip to Austria this year. The US-pro scooped up a mighty $500,000 jackpot after beating a stacked field in the final of the PartyPoker Premier League.

Seiver safely navigated his way through a line up that included $2m man Sam Trickett, Tom 'Durrrr' Dwan, Tony G, Patrik Antonius and Phil Laak leaving the not so small matter of Daniel 'Jungleman12' Cates to beat to take home the half mil.

Holding a 2 to 1 chip lead, Seiver called Jungleman's all in with KQ off and was racing when Cates revealed pocket sevens. The first four cards out helped neither player but a king on the river sent the fifth Premier League title to Seiver, not to mention the huge pile of cash and seat in the WPT Championship.

The final positions and payouts were as follows:

1st Scott Seiver $500,000
2nd Daniel Cates $300,000
3rd Phil Laak $175,000
4th Patrik Antonius $125,000
5th Tony G $100,000
6th Tom Dwan $80,000
7th Mathew Frankland $65,000
8th Sam Trickett $55,000
