Scott Seiver wins PCA $100k High Roller

Tuesday, 8 January 2013

The first huge buy-in tournament of 2013 has been won by Scott Seiver who has taken down the $100,000 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure High Roller.

The 27-year-old scooped a massive first prize of $2,003,480 after outrunning a high class field of 59 entries. The Las Vegas-based New Yorker got a slice of luck during heads up play, flopping a set with pocket nines to beat David 'Doc' Sands' pocket tens. The end came soon after when Seiver's A7 held against Sands' shortstacked shove with K4. It wasn't all bad for Sands though, who secured his highest ever live score of $1,259,320 for his runner up finish.

“This is just so fantastic,” said Seiver, whose career tournament earnings are now over $7m. “Sitting around with all the best players in the entire world ... and then you somehow end up on top and you get to share that moment with all your friends. It’s everything I’d ever want; it’s perfect.”
