Scott Montgomery robbed at Bellagio

Monday, 11 October 2010

Canadian poker player Scott Montgomery first came to the poker world's notice when he made the inaugural November Nine of the WSOP Main Event and finished fifth for just over $3,000,000. Since then he's made over a million more in live tournaments including a WSOP bracelet and become a Full Tilt Red Pro.

Yesterday he found out that fame and fortune is a double-edged sword when he was robbed in the bathroom of The Bellagio in Las Vegas. He said on his Twitter accountthat a "black guy pulled a knife on me in the restroom. I gave him the $2k in my wallet and he left."

Montgomery had complaints about the Bellagio security after the incident, calling them "twits" and stating that "they didn't even ask me to look at camera footage. [They] pretty much said oh well, life sucks, have a nice day."

Montgomery should take some lessons from 2004 Main Event champion Greg Raymer, who once fought off three muggers in Las Vegas outside his hotel room.
