Schneider’s WSOP Double

Schneider’s WSOP Double

Wednesday, 19 June 2013

Tom Schneider has become the first player at this year’s WSOP to scoop two bracelets after taking down Event #29 earlier today.

Having started the final session with 64% of the chips in play, Schneider only had to outlast three players in the H.O.R.S.E. tournament to claim the top spot and his fourth career bracelet.

Soon after play got underway Viatcheslav Ortynskiy fell by the wayside, leaving only Greg Mueller and Benjamin Scholl able to stop Schneider. Indeed, while Mueller put up a spirited fight he was soon sent to the rail in the event’s Stud round.

Those two eliminations left a fresh faced Scholl staring at the mountain of chips held by the mixed game veteran Schneider and within a few hands the match was over. Having switched to No Limit Hold’em, the two players finally committed their chips on an Ah Jc 6s Kc board and when the cards were revealed Schneider’s Ac Th was in the lead.

As the Jh completed the board Scholl’s Kd Qs was second best and as the final pot was pushed towards Schneider the young pro could only watch as his opponent clinched his second H.O.R.S.E. title in a week.

While Schneider was setting the standard at this year’s WSOP, Chris Dombrowski was carving out his own little piece of history in Event #30. Having battled his way past a typically busy field in the $1,000 No Limit Hold’em event, Dombrowski was able to clinch his first bracelet after beating Mathew Moore heads-up.

After more than two hours of battling, Dombrowski was finally able to scoop the top prize when his Ah 7s was enough to beat Moore’s Kh 6d on a Qd 2d Ac 5s 4d board.
