Everest Poker has announced a series of satellite tournaments that are exclusively open to players from the Scandinavian countries of Norway, Sweden, and Denmark leading to the first Nordic Summit tournament to be held in Spain.
'This event takes a historic rivalry between three countries that are often cited as having the best poker players in the world, and creates a unique tournament structure to determine who is the ‘best of the best’ from these countries – both as a team and individually,' said Jonathan May, Everest Poker property manager. 'This Nordic Summit is sure to bring out some great players in a first-of-its-kind poker event.'
On January 2, Everest Poker began hosting a series of five online $22 plus 2 finale tournaments for players living in the three participating countries. The tournaments are taking place each Tuesday during the month of January.
These satellites, along with seats being given through special promotions, place ten Swedes, ten Danes, and ten Norwegians at a final tournament to be held in Barcelona, Spain from Febraury 24 to 25. Points are given for the top 50 places in each of the finale tournaments and the top eight point earners from each country win a seat at the final event.
