A record field of 47 players helped to create a prizepool of almost $6 million for this year’s $100,000 PCA Super High Roller.

With Viktor “Isildur1” Blom watching from behind his computer screen at home, the stellar field racked up a total of 59 entry fees, meaning that the eventual winner will away with $2,003,480.


After the first day of action it was German pro Philipp Gruissem who headed the field, but after a high quality day of action at the felt yesterday, David “Doc” Sands was the man who finished on top.


His haul of 6,680,000 chips put him a long way ahead of the day’s most successful player: Nick Schulman (2,295,000).


The day of heavy action saw a stream of world class players hit the rail, including: Phil Ivey, Tom “durrrrr” Dwan, Daniel Negreanu, Erik Seidel and Antonio Esfandiari.


Eight players now remain and will resume their bid for the title later today when one player will scoop the first title of this year’s PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
