Sahamies and Juanda make EPT Barcelona final table
Saturday, 25 August 2012
The Main Event at PokerStars EPT Barcelona is down to a final table of eight with online legend Ilari Sahamies leading the way.
The Finn has already enjoyed a good week in the Catalan capital after scooping €291,000 for a fourth place finish in the €50k High Roller event earlier this week. He will of course be aiming for much more later today, and is well placed to do so with a stack of 7,885,000.
The artist formerly known as Ziigmund will of course face plenty of competition from an international final table table that includes a novice playing in his first live event, a chess player, a couple of online grinders and a five-time WSOP bracelet winner. The bracelet winner in question is John Juanda who returns in seventh place.
The final eight are guaranteed a pay day of €76,100 with the winner set to walk away with €1,007,550.
The chip counts are as follows:
Ilari Sahamies, Finland, 7,885,000
Samuel Rodriguez, Spain, 6,450,000
Anaras Alekberovas, Lithuania, 4,430,000
Mikalai Pobal, Belarus, 4,410,000
