SCOOP is Back

SCOOP is Back

Wednesday, 27 March 2013

One of PokerStars' most anticipated online poker series was tentatively announced yesterday. The Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) will take place between May 12 and 26 this year and feature a total of 42 events.

In contrast to last year’s SCOOP, which became the largest online poker series ever thanks to dishing out over $65 million, there will be at least two more events for players to test their skills in. As in previous years the familiar format of Low, Medium and High buy-ins means that there will be three versions of each event, taking the total number of tournaments to 126.

Although only a draft of the intended roster, two of the most interesting inclusions on SCOOP 2013’s schedule are a selection of Zoom and 5-Card Omaha tournaments. Following PokerStars’ latest software updates, these tournaments will now be on offer and are likely to attract some healthy competition.

While the guarantees for each event haven’t been set, there are still a number of events that are bound to attract a lot of attention, such as:

May 12: 11:00 ET: Event 01 - NL Hold'em (6-Max)
Low: $27, Medium: $215, High: $2,100

May 20: 11:00 ET: Event 23 - Mixed NL Hold'em / PL Omaha
Low: $11, Medium: $109, High: $1,050

May 26: 14:30 ET: Event 42 - NL Hold'em Main Event
Low: $109, Medium: $1,050, High: $10,300

New players at PokerStars that deposit $20 can earn $20 of free play as well as a ticket for the $100k Privilege Freeroll. Just sign up and use the bonus code 'FREE20.
