The latest edition of the Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) tournament series began over the weekend at PokerStars promising 45 events and over $40 million in total cash and prizes.

The SCOOP 2014 action is due to run until May 18 and see PokerStars offer 18 different games spread across 15 distinct formats divided into low, medium and high buy-in events.

The tournament series began on Sunday with a six-maximum no-limit hold‘em special spread across $27, $215 and $2,100 buy-in levels while Turkey's ‘GeoManousos’ managed to collect the day’s largest cash prize of $117,626 in the subsequent $1,050 buy-in progressive super knockout.

Monday saw another batch of multi-table tournaments get underway and the likes of Eugene Katchalov and Marc-Andre Ladouceur are currently fighting for the $144,400 top prize in the $530 buy-in six-maximum re-buy Event #4.

SCOOP 2014 is to continue through the week before its final selection of tournaments on the Sunday.
