Ryan Leaves the Party

Ryan Leaves the Party

Thursday, 6 December 2012

PartyPoker's Jim Ryan has decided to return to his native Canada next month and leave behind the company he headed for four years.

Having taken charge of the online poker room at its peak, Ryan keep them afloat during some tough times, including the $105 million payment to the US government following UIGEA, as well as the takeover of the WPT.

Since merging with Bwin, Ryan has shared the title of CEO with Norbert Teufelberger. Working as a partnership on the subsequent bwin.party brand, Ryan and Teufelberger introduced a number of companywide changes, such as the expansion of the bingo platform and the introduction of a fast fold poker option.

However, Teufelberger will now steer the ship alone as Ryan now plans to return to his transatlantic birthplace and spend some time with his family before making his next move.

Indeed, Teufelberger’s first order of business will be to oversee the final stage in the sale of the Ongame Network.
