Russia Takes First MicroMillions Crown

Russia Takes First MicroMillions Crown

Friday, 15 November 2013

Yesterday saw the start of PokerStars' sixth MicroMillions festival and, in typical fashion, chips were sent flying from the start. By the time the registration desk had closed on Event #1 an impressive 66,366 players had anted-up the necessary $0.11 entry fee.

Being a hyper-active rebuy the participants weren't afraid to gamble and that meant the $15,000 guarantee was always going to be in danger. After a chaotic rebuy period - which saw 338,790 stacks replenished - the prizepool had soared past the initial guarantee and up to $40,515.

By the time the masses had been whittled down to a final table of nine the UK's "toyca11" was leading the way. However, the aggressive structure soon put the Brit in danger and after watching Russia's "nizavarz" fall in ninth, the lone UK representative made his exit in eighth place.

As more players departed from the final table a heads-up match between "LordAgrael" and "JayBee1072" emerged. That match was over in just a few hands and, when the dust had settled, it was Russia's "LordAgrael" who claimed the first virtual title of this year's MicroMillions.
