Ross McDermott takes Southern England Poker Challenge

The first ever Southern England Poker Challenge took place at the Genting Club in Reading this past weekend with 78 players creating a prize pool of £39,000.

After two days of action it was Ross McDermott and last year's London Calling Main Event winner Chris Gordon who took the lion's share of it.


The pair worked their way through a final table that included Genting pro Elzbieta Biessek-Piechota, Palm Beach Big Game winner Craig Sweden and DTD Deepstack winner Lisa Hawkes before agreeing a chop.


The deal saw McDermott take the title, the trophy and £9,395 with Gordon taking £10,395.
